The following report summarizes the activities of, the Conservation Commission of the Town of Shirley for the year 1969.
The Conservation Commission has been working diligently, investigating certain pieces of land within the Town as to their suitability for becoming permanent conservation areas. At our monthly meetings we have reviewed these properties in attempting to co-ordinate plans for a "Town Forest". The preserved wood and swampland would be interspersed with marked Nature Trails which should be of great interest to everyone in Shirley.
After the 1970 appropriation from the Town, the Commission should be in a position to proceed with the acquisition of certain desirable parcels of land which it has been investigating over the past several years.
