In celebration of the publication of Vernal Pools: Natural History and Conservation, author and Shirley resident Betsy Colburn was at the Town Offices on December 3 to sign copies of the book. In addition, Betsy gave a short presentation about vernal pools, their inhabitants and their life cycles, and their importance in the food chain.

Sales of the book by the Conservation Commission benefit the Longley Acres Conservation Area Maintenance Fund.
