The Shirley Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing relative to a Notice of Intent filing under the Wetlands Protection Act (M.G.L. Chapter 131, Section 40) and the Shirley Wetlands Protection Bylaw. The work is located at the Lunenburg/Shirley town line (the dam is located on Map-Block-Parcel 36-A-1). This application was filed by the Town of Lunenburg, owner of the property; their representative is the Lake Shirley Improvement Corporation. This application is for proposed work within the bank, land under water, and bordering vegetated wetlands and within the 100-foot buffer zone of bordering vegetated wetland and bank and within the 200-foot riverfront area. The proposed project includes drawdown of the lake to control nuisance vegetation and retard eutrophication and hydro-raking to control nuisance vegetation. The public hearing will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in the Town Offices at 7 Keady Way in Shirley. All interested parties are urged to attend.
